For shoes – a departure from the norm with an homage to the classic is dominating the scene right now. I’m seeing a lot of flared and wedge heels on pumps, and classic sneakers are getting an upgrade with eye-popping colors! For accessories – snag basics with flair. I’m seeing gold, chunky accents on every woman attending New York Fashion Week events!
Dresses + Outerwear
You can never go wrong with a camel coat, but I sure hope you’ve added a colorful blazer or two to your closet. Track jackets (and even racetrack jackets!) are getting a serious comeback! Fall dresses depend on a play on shapes and patterns. Don’t be afraid to pair a floral maxi with a killer boot – it’ll take you anywhere!
Tops
Mock necks and cap sleeves are everywhere for tops this season – but fall is no stranger to slouchier tops and sweaters, and there are plenty of those you should keep your eyes on. For blouses, stick with patterns in fall colors like beiges, browns, and creams!
Bottoms
One word: tailored. As someone who rose through the corporate world in structured suits, I am loving the trend of tailored pants! Pair them with one of the tops I’ve suggested for a seamless office look, or throw on a graphic tee for happy hour. You’ll look classy without even trying!
