Pumpkin spice lattes are back and all the fall decor has hit the shelves! I’m so excited about the temps starting to cool down, all of the fun fall activities, and most importantly – the fall fashion! I can’t wait to see all of the street styles out of New York Fashion Week, too. There’s nothing like a fall fit to get you inspired to look your best. With the fresh new season in mind, let’s talk about how to find your personal style and level up your professional presence!
I love it when the fashion seasons transition – it’s my favorite time of year. And it’s also the perfect time to reevaluate what’s in your closet! There’s no easier moment to make changes to your wardrobe than when you’re pulling out the next season’s items. Tell me – when is the last time you actually went through all of your pieces and really took stock of what clicks for you and what doesn’t? It’s an easy thing to put off, but it doesn’t have to be as draining as you’re worried it will be. Let me give you 3 tips to help you reconnect and reintroduce yourself – for both your personal and professional life!
FALL 2024: HOW TO FIND YOUR PERSONAL STYLE AND LEVEL UP YOUR PROFESSIONAL PRESENCE!
- Take inventory and edit accordingly. At the end of every season, I like to look through my entire wardrobe and make a list of what I wore and what I literally didn’t even touch. This allows me to easily determine if it’s time to donate it, sell it, or give it away. You always want your wardrobe to be filled with items that you love and actually wear, whether it’s to brunch with the girls or to a networking event. So make some space! - Check in with yourself about your life. Ask yourself: “Has anything shifted in my life that requires me to show up in the world differently?” If so, this is the perfect time to learn how to level up! Our image and style always need to align with our current lifestyle. So if you’ve returned to the office full time after working remotely – you need to chuck the sweats, sis. If you’re looking to move up the ladder in your industry – get curious about what the women are wearing who are in the positions you want to be in!
- Start paying attention to trends. Now before you go disagreeing with me on this one – this isn’t about swiping your card to buy whatever’s hot at the moment! I’m including this because it’s important to look up-to-date, especially as a professional woman. (You don’t want to look like you’ve stepped straight out of a time capsule into your office!) Trends can affect fabrics, buttons, lengths, and so much more – so they might require you to update your classic basics!
See how simple that 3-step formula is? It works for me every time! The key to showing up in the world confidently is just a little intentional planning and evaluation. And if that means taking a little extra time for yourself, I’ll always encourage you to do that!
