Pumpkin spice lattes are back and all the fall decor has hit the shelves! I’m so excited about the temperature cooling down soon, all of the fun fall activities, and mostly, the fall fashion! I’ve loved seeing the street styles from NYFW, too. There’s nothing like a fall fit to get you inspired. Ready to look your best this season? Let’s talk about Fall 2023: How To Find Your Personal Style!
I love it when the fashion seasons transition – it’s my favorite time of year. And it’s also the perfect time to reevaluate your professional and personal style! What better time to make changes to your wardrobe than when you’re pulling out the next season’s items? (If you’re a Polished woman, I know you’ve got the basics down – now you just have to elevate your look with seasonally appropriate items!) So let me give you 3 tips to help you reconnect and reintroduce!
FALL 2023: HOW TO FIND YOUR PERSONAL STYLE
- Take inventory and edit. At the end of every season, I like to take inventory of what I wore and what I didn’t touch. This allows me to easily determine if it’s time to donate it or give it away. You always want your wardrobe to be filled with items that you love and actually wear! So make some space!
- Check in with yourself. Ask yourself: has something changed in my life that requires me to show up in the world differently or asses my current Style Personality? If so, this is the perfect time to determine what changes were made and learn how to level up! Our image and style always need to align with our current lifestyle. It’s how to ensure we show up both authentically and confidently!
- Check in on the trends. Now before you go disagreeing with me on this one – this isn’t about swiping your card to buy whatever’s hot at the moment! I’m including this because it’s important to look up-to-date, especially as a professional woman. (You don’t want to look like you’ve stepped straight out of a time capsule into your office!) Trends can affect fabrics, buttons, lengths, and so much more – so they might require you to update your classic basics!
These are the simple steps that work for me every time! The key to showing up in the world with confidence and looking the part is planning. So that means taking a little extra time for yourself. And I’ll always encourage you to do that!
Don’t worry if this feels like a lot – I promise it’ll be better if you don’t overthink it. Fashion and style are supposed to be fun, and not overwhelming! And with the Fall season coming up, we need to plan our looks NOW! I promise you, once you learn how to find your personal style this fall 2023 – you will use it for every season after!
