Lover of fashion, passionate about personal image, and former fashion executive now dedicated to assisting professional women level up!
Are you still struggling to look the part? Maybe you feel lost on how you should dress and express yourself when going to work?
During the last couple of years, we have definitely relaxed on the way we dress during business hours. While some have embraced the casual virtual stretch pants trend, others are ready to get dressed to get back to business!
So as we prepare to head back into the office, it’s time to get it together and make sure we make the best impression every time!
I know that you have probably changed and your priorities and goals might have shifted. But taking the time to plan your professional presence is truly one of the keys to your success.
Your professional image is the most powerful communication tool you have. It tells your colleagues and your senior staff who you are, who you want to be, and where you are going!
So, if you are struggling to look the part as you head back into the office, here are 3 reasons why…
Yes, we now live in a digital world, but that does not mean we need to let our professional image fall to the waist side. On the contrary, companies desire to employ and promote individuals that represent them well. This means it’s worth investing the time to find out your company’s dress code policy is now since Covid-19. While you think casual jeans and a t-shirt are fine, I guarantee you that many times it is not. And trust me, your senior staff is taking notes.
Being practical and comfortable during our work days has become a priority for many. But we have got to get honest with ourselves– have we gone too far? Twenty years ago, women were stuck wearing structured clothes that made them walk around like robots because there was absolutely no give in the fabrics. Today, there is no garment you can think of that is not produced in a stretch fabric. It’s because fashion and clothing have evolved to make our lives easier! When materials have stretch in them, they are comfortable and you feel more confident in them. It might take you time to find the perfect item for you at retail, but trust me, they exist. So if you need a structured blazer, formal trousers, or even a full suit– look for fabrics that stretch and you will have all the comfort you need.
Not everyone follows the trends, and that is okay! However, adding a few everyday items to your existing wardrobe to elevate and update your look for the Spring 2022 season is strongly recommended. Why? Because although classic items are great, pairing them with an updated item sends the message that you have not been living under a rock for the last couple of years and that you are relevant in your style approach. It lets the world know that you are with the current times and thriving! If you need a few recommendations, check out the Top 5 Spring 2002 Must-Haves by clicking HERE.
