There are really not a lot of things I love more than a runway show. And they’re not just about showcasing clothing, my friend! Each show tells a different story about a brand, about its philosophy and its values. It’s always fascinating to me to see who pushes the envelope, who is memorable and who is forgettable, and who is full of surprises. And if you think you don’t care that much about what happens on a runway… I beg to differ. Remember that scene in The Devil Wears Prada when Meryl Streep tells Anne Hathaway how she chose the sweater she was wearing based on the trickle down effect from major fashion houses? These shows dictate everything you end up wearing – in some ways more subtle than others, but they do determine the trends! As a stylist, it’s my job AND my passion to tell you what’s what. Christian Dior Fall 2024 Couture
This legendary fashion house kept the colors monochrome this year. But they still packed a punch with an incredible contrast of structured, eye-catching pieces and flowing grecian silhouettes. In short, they dominated the runway!
Mugler Fall 2024 Ready-To-Wear Collection
Every single one of these looks is a STATEMENT. Mugler is known for their daring plays on feminine silhouettes that add an element you’d never think you’d see. (And can we get a little commotion for the body and age diversity I saw on this runway? We still have a long way to go, but I love to see it!)
Elie Saab Fall 2024 Ready-To-Wear Collection
Elie Saab gives an elevated nod here to the cowboy-inspired trends we’re seeing a lot of these days. But the collection also features a wide range, not the least of which Elie Saab is known for: drop-dead gorgeous gowns! Chic separates with classy cutouts, sheer panels, and embellishments round out this fantastic show!
Chloé Fall 2024 Ready-To-Wear Collection
There were so many chic elements in this show, but the through line was LACE. It was featured on dresses, tops, capes, jumpsuits, and bodysuits! Oversized outerwear showed sneak peeks of feminine elements – a perfect silhouette for fall!
Brandon Maxwell Fall 2024 Ready-To-Wear
Easily the most ready-to-wear for everyday out of all 5! Brandon Maxwell consistently serves up ways to elevate, but they all remain accessible. If you saw a woman wearing one of these fits walking down the street, you’d stop her and ask where she got it! They’re just effortlessly cool.
