it's time to look the part!
Lover of fashion, passionate about personal image, and former fashion executive now dedicated to assisting professional women level up!
I have to be honest… I love WINE just as much as I love fashion, so of course I had to share with you what to wear to a winery! On the weekends, I’m all about having a good time. So the last thing I want to worry about is what to wear. I like to plan ahead and use my Weekly Wardrobe Planning Worksheet to ensure I have my act together when it’s time to go! Trust me, it makes dressing up daily a breeze.
I discovered the joy of wine tasting over 20 years ago when I was in college. It was something about leaving the hustle and bustle of San Francisco on the weekend that soothed my soul.
Over the years, I’ve spent many weekends with family and friends strolling Napa Valley and Sonoma vineyards. I absolutely love the breathtaking views and the country drive. So when I head to wine country, it’s all about being whimsical and flirty… all while making sure I’m not overdressed of course…
Wine country is all about being relaxed and having a great time. Therefore, your outfit should definitely carry that sophisticated, but chill vibe!
This Summer, it’s all about socially distancing, and wineries with beautiful grounds are a perfect way to get out of the house for a minute to smell some fresh air, while being responsible.
There are 3 important things to remember when planning your outfit to wine country…
ONE – COMFORT IS EVERYTHING!
Who can relax and have a good time, when your clothes are restrictive and your shoes hurt your feet? It’s so important to wear clothes made out of fabrics that feel good on your skin along with shoes that are comfortable enough to walk around the vineyard and enjoy the views. Check out the Summer dresses and coordinating sets below, that are guaranteed to make you look stylish and comfortable at the same time!
TWO – ALWAYS CARRY A TOP LAYER
Regardless if it’s Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter, I highly recommend always carrying a top layer to put on for when it gets breezy. I love carrying a classic cardigan that coordinates with my look, or a jean jacket.
THREE – CARRY A SMALL PURSE
One of the last things you want to be worried about when wine tasting is what to do with your purse! You need to be as hands free as possible so you can carry all the wine that you buy. LOL (you know it’s true)! I recommend wearing a lightweight cross body purse, or a simple card holder to put in your pocket.
Whether you’re heading to the vineyard with your girlfriends or your love, have tons of fun! Additionally, feel free to rock some brown tone neutrals in your winery style too. You can even use it as more outfit inspiration.
