One thing that has always set an extraordinary fashion season apart is cohesiveness: a signature thread that ties a designer’s collection together. I’ve seen it through color, silhouette, and intricate details alike; whatever the medium, it always comes from a well-thought-out perspective. However, in recent years, I’ve noticed a shift. Many designers seem to be throwing spaghetti at the wall hoping something will stick, rather than committing to a clear vision. Instead of setting bold new trends, they’re playing it safe, repeating past styles without actually reinterpreting them in an innovative way. So I’m turning to a new way for sourcing inspiration: here’s the Polished runway review, version 2.0!
Rather than selecting 5 to 10 designers from the four major fashion weeks for Spring/Summer 2025 (NY, London, Milan, and Paris) like I usually do, I’m taking a different approach. This season, I’m curating actual looks – from both emerging and established fashion houses – that demonstrate what I believe to be a fresh perspective and genuine creativity. I’m highlighting a mix of:
- Luxury and Ready-to-Wear Brands – because high fashion is, believe it or not, translatable to everyday life!
- Bridge and Contemporary Designers – keeping you in touch with accessible trends that’ll elevate your everyday wardrobes.
- Innovative Details & Silhouettes – for looking beyond just “what’s trending” to find elements that feel fresh and wearable – but not so “out there” that I’d have to convince you to even consider it!
