Lover of fashion, passionate about personal image, and former fashion executive now dedicated to assisting professional women level up!
Okay ladies, although some people have a personal style that appears effortless, the truth is, “To look that effortless, takes effort.” Therefore it’s time to start the planning your desired looks for this season!
The fashion industry has been getting ready for months, and the buyers have carefully selected their merchandise from the runway shows just for you. However, we as women have our own point of view on style, and that needs to be expressed.
So, now it’s time for us to do our part! At the beginning of every season I work with clients to create a Personal Mood Board. The Mood Board is filled with trends and looks pulled from fashion editorial magazines such as Vogue, Marie Claire, In Style, Pinterest, Online Stores, and more. Remember, the key to building a fabulous and fierce working wardrobe is filling it with items that make your heart throb! So let your creative juices flow, regardless of where you are in your personal style and image journey…
HOW TO BUILD A MOOD BOARD
STEP ONE – To get started building your mood board for the season you will need the following:
STEP TWO – The next step is compiling your favorite looks from your magazines and print outs. Lay them all out and edit them down to the ones you know you will definitely rock with confidence.
STEP THREE – Then tape them to a piece of paper in a creative way like my personal Mood Board for the season below…
Once your story board is created it acts as a powerful guide to do the following:
1. Take inventory of what you already own, and build a shopping list of your current needs. (This ensures you don’t over spend, or get overwhelmed while out shopping)
2. Spot the items you’re going to need to create the looks with ease. (You will not fall victim to merchandising schemes, because you have your own PLAN)
4. Guide you when getting dressed everyday. (I personally tape mine to my closet door, just to keep me focused)
5. Build confidence (Because you took the time to focus your style and image for the season, and you know your looking good!)
